This is enough material to paint the exterior of a medium sized vehicle.  If you are painting the jambs, under-hood, inside the bed or a larger vehicle you may need additional material.

!!!!  This color is super hard to spray over a silver base.  Even experienced professionals will struggle to get this one even over silver.  To make it easier to apply and repair as needed consider using the Emerald Green Pearlized Candy over our white sealer or use Alien Green Metallic of SuperNova Green as a base for this Urethane Candy  !!!!

EyeKandy 2K Urethane colors are a combination of dyes and/or ultra-transparent pigments with 2K urethane resins to give a candy with maximum depth for a rich, ultra-wet look. For more info about the various types of candy click here to visit our candy paints explainer page

Should you require a low VOC paint we have one available in this kit. To find the low VOC kit enter the color name in the search box above and look for the option showing cans with green and white labels. See our low VOC tab for the latest information.

How long does candy paint last?

True candy paints like our EyeKandy candy paints are made from dyes which provide a deeper, richer color than normal automotive paints but typically fade faster than our traditional solid, metallic, and pearlescent colors. The longevity depends on the amount of candy applied, which and how much clear is used, and how much time the vehicle spends outside in the sun. Vehicles that spend all day, every day in the sun can fade substantially over a 2-3 year period whereas many show vehicles that are garage kept and used for shows and cruising will last for 5-10 years+. If you are concerned about the longevity of candy paints you might consider some of our transparent 3 stage pearl and metallic finishes that have the look of candy with excellent durability.

What is the difference in the 4 types of candy you offer?

We offer candy in four forms; 2K urethane candy (EKU Series), Candy Basecoat (EKB Series) , Pearlized Candy Basecoat (KGC Series), and Candy Dye Concentrates (EKK Series). In general the EKU Series is the deepest, wettest, look but most difficult to spray and repair. The KGC Series is the easiest to apply and repair but has a slightly different look than the EKU Series. The EKB series resembles the EKU series closely and is a better choice for taping and doing graphics than the EKU series. The EKK series is best used for tinting colors.

How much paint do I need?

The amount of paint you will need depends on a lot of factors including the size of the vehicle you are painting, how much of the vehicle you are painting, which color you use, your spray equipment, and the technique and skill of your painter. Generally speaking a gallon kit of paint is enough for the outside and jambs of a small to medium sized vehicle. Larger vehicles or if you are painting more than the outside and jambs will require more paint. Quart kits are generally enough paint for motorcycles and golf carts. However, if you have a large motorcycle or golf cart with a lot of pieces you might need an additional quart kit.

Which clear should I use?

We highly recommend the UC-210 UreChem HS Glamour clear over candy. The UC-210 has been proven to offer more UV protection than most clears on the market which extends the life of the candy.

Which activator and reducer should I use?

The activator and reducer to select depends on the size of the vehicle or parts you are painting, the temperature, and your air movement. Generally speaking when painting a 30%+ of a car’s surface area at once you’ll want medium or “standard” reducer and activator as it is called for vehicle surface temps up to 85F. For temperatures above that slow is the better choice. Generally fast is only recommended for smaller areas in cooler temps.

How much is shipping, and how long will it take before I get my kit?

Shipping cost is based on order total. Orders over $400.00 will ship for free to the lower 48 states, while orders under $400 will ship for a flat fee (see table below).

Why are your products so much more affordable than big name brands?

Our unique sales and marketing strategy allows us to save substantial amounts of money by not hiring a national sales force to distribute our products. Furthermore, we do not have large marketing budgets based off exorbitant costs of race and show sponsorships.

How good is your product?

It’s excellent!

We conduct advanced testing on every coating to verify that it meets our standards for durability and wear. Our testing process utilizes expensive equipment that simulates several years of extreme weather. The weather is we simulate is very hard on paint: high heat and high humidity, wet freezing rain, and extended UV exposure. While our testing device can simulate 2 years of weather in just a few weeks, most paint companies don’t bother with this type of testing becasue of the effort and expense.

We’ve always believe the quality of our products will be the key to our success, and we’re proud to say we have thousands of 5-star reviews on both our website and our store on eBay.

Does this product meet local VOC requirements?

Local VOC (volatile organic compound) requirements can vary, so you should check local regulations before purchasing. We know there are some areas that require the use of a “low VOC” automotive paint, and we offer an extensive line of low VOC paints for customers in these areas. For more information, please contact us, and be sure to let us know your address (including zip code).

Do you have photos of your paint on cars and bikes?

Yes! Check out our photo gallery.
