KonFusion Chameleon flip flop paint basecoats are made from durable urethane co-reactants and the latest in Chameleon flip flop paint technology to create a durable basecoat with jaw dropping color change at an affordable price. Maximum color change is achieved over black bases but titanium based chameleon pearls (KF-02, KF-03, KF-04, KF-05, KF09) can be used over lighter colors for unique color stylings with less color change. Colors in the attached photos and video are all shown over black base. Requires clearcoat for exterior use. We also have listings for kits that contain black base, KonFusion Color, Clear, and all the activator and reducers required for one low price. Mixes 2:1 with UreChem urethane reducer.

The amount of paint depends on a lot of factors but generally one car kit will paint the outside and jambs on mid-sized vehicles. Large SUVs or large trucks where you are spraying inside the bed will need additional paint. One moto kit will handle most bikes. The experience level of your painter with chameleon paints will play a big role in how much paint is used and the likely quality of your completed paint job. Chameleon colors are hard to paint so choose your painter wisely.
What colors to do you see in this chameleon?
Thee colors you see depends on how it is applied and your personal color perception. We recommend you choose your color based on how it looks in the photo and video then make sure a test panel is done and you like it before your vehicle is sprayed. More or less coats of chameleon over the black does effect the final color so you migh want to evaluate test sprays with different numbers of coats of the chameleon to choose your favorite effect.
We recommend you use a UreChem branded clear to ensure compatibility and long term durability. We offer two selections and Novice painters typically find the MS clear easier to work with while experienced painters who prefer a thicker higher solids clear tend to prefer the HS Glamour clear.
Use the UreChem urethane reducer best suited to the size of the part you are painting and the temperature you are painting.
Does this product meet my local VOC requirement?
Check local regulations before purchasing. Some areas require a “low VOC” automotive paint for compliance with new air regulations. See our low VOC tab for the latest information.
NOTE: Automotive paints, such as those represented on this site, can be hazardous to your health, and as such, require specialized equipment and training to use properly and safely. These products are designed for use by professionally trained autobody painters with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in an approved spray booth and are not recommended for at home or "do it yourself" type applications.
WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer.
How many colors can you see in the chameleon paints?
The number of colors shown in the chameleon paints depends on the person, the viewing angle, the base color, application technique and lighting. We’ve had customers that report seeing only two and other customers report seeing 10. The best way to decide to review the videos linked in the gallery.
Is it difficult to apply chameleon paint?
Yes. Chameleon colors are among the most difficult colors to apply. If the chameleon layers are not applied evenly the finish will look mottled or “cloudy” with light or dark spots or have streaks. Make sure to only use professionals skilled in applying chameleon paints.
Can you mix the different chameleon colors to get more “flip” colors?
Generally, no. When different colors are mixed together (for example mixing KF01 with KF05) the colors often just change the colors that you see and not the number of colors. In many cases combining the different colors together makes a color that is not as vibrant as the colors used as directed by themselves.
How much paint do I need?
The amount of paint you will need depends on a lot of factors including the size of the vehicle you are painting, how much of the vehicle you are painting, which color you use, your spray equipment, and the technique and skill of your painter. Generally speaking a gallon kit of paint is enough for the outside and jambs of a small to medium sized vehicle. Larger vehicles or if you are painting more than the outside and jambs will require more paint. Quart kits are generally enough paint for motorcycles and golf carts. However, if you have a large motorcycle or golf cart with a lot of pieces you might need an additional quart kit.
Which clear should I use?
We highly recommend the UC-210 UreChem HS Glamour clear. The UC-210 has been proven to offer more UV protection than most clears on the market which extends the life of your finish. Our 2K MS clear is a good choice in colder weather or when you need a faster drying product.
Which activator and reducer should I use?
The activator and reducer to select depends on the size of the vehicle or parts you are painting, the temperature, and your air movement. Generally speaking when painting a 30%+ of a car’s surface area at once you’ll want medium or “standard” reducer and activator as it is called for vehicle surface temps up to 85F. For temperatures above that slow is the better choice. Generally fast is only recommended for smaller areas in cooler temps.

Why are your products so much more affordable than big name brands?
Our unique sales and marketing strategy allows us to save substantial amounts of money by not hiring a national sales force to distribute our products. Furthermore, we do not have large marketing budgets based off exorbitant costs of race and show sponsorships.
How good is your product?
It’s excellent!
We conduct advanced testing on every coating to verify that it meets our standards for durability and wear. Our testing process utilizes expensive equipment that simulates several years of extreme weather. The weather is we simulate is very hard on paint: high heat and high humidity, wet freezing rain, and extended UV exposure. While our testing device can simulate 2 years of weather in just a few weeks, most paint companies don’t bother with this type of testing becasue of the effort and expense.
We’ve always believe the quality of our products will be the key to our success, and we’re proud to say we have thousands of 5-star reviews on both our website and our store on eBay.
