SKU: NeoFluor Quarts Category:

This listing features one full unreduced quart of the NeoFluorNeon Fluorescent paintcolor Basecoat of your choice. Use the drop down menu below to choose your favorite neon paint color. NeoFluor neon fluorescent paint is based on Fluorescing pigments that convert some forms of light that are not normally visiblie to humans to a visible form making these colors the brightest colors available! Unique pigments also glow in the dark under black lights that emit UV light. Must be applied over white for best brightness. See other listings for additional sizes. Fluorescing or “Neon” type colors like NeoFluor do not offer the long term durability that our typical SlikBase automotive colors exhibit. NeoFluor is best used on indoor applications, novelty projects, or projects where long term lightfastness is not required.

What does Neon/Fluorescent paint mean?

Paints that fluoresce convert ultra-violet (UV) light that you cant see to visible light that you can see. This makes them appearl to “glow” more than normal paint colors. These colors will in fact glow in the dark under a UV emitting black light.

Do Fluorescent colors fade quickly?

Yes. The nature of fluorescent colors results in a really bright colors that fade quickly. Our NeoFluor Neon colors like other true fluorescent colors generally fade within a couple of years. These colors are best used for bright color applications that get re-painted regularly or interior applications.

How much paint do I need?

The amount of paint you will need depends on a lot of factors including the size of the vehicle you are painting, how much of the vehicle you are painting, which color you use, your spray equipment, and the technique and skill of your painter. Generally speaking 4 quarts of paint is enough for the outside and jambs of a small to medium sized vehicle. Larger vehicles or if you are painting more than the outside and jambs will require more paint. Quart kits are generally enough paint for motorcycles and golf carts. However, if you have a large motorcycle or golf cart with a lot of pieces you might need an additional quart kit.

Which clear should I use?

We highly recommend the UC-210 UreChem HS Glamour clear over Neons. The UC-210 has been proven to offer more UV protection than most clears on the market which extends the life of the finish.

Which activator and reducer should I use?

The activator and reducer to select depends on the size of the vehicle or parts you are painting, the temperature, and your air movement. Generally speaking when painting a 30%+ of a car’s surface area at once you’ll want medium or “standard” reducer and activator as it is called for vehicle surface temps up to 85F. For temperatures above that slow is the better choice. Generally fast is only recommended for smaller areas in cooler temps.
