Description
Featured in this listing is a 4 ounce bottle of the FireFlake Kandy Metal Flake. FireFlake is built from solvent resistant polymer metallized and coated for deep color and durability. These Kandy Metal flake colors come in two convenient particle sizes; 1/165th (F Series) and 1/65th (BF Series) of an inch and cut to hexagonal geometry for excellent balance of sparkle with application ease. Can be added to clear topcoats or for best results use one of our intercoat clears (sold separately). FireFlake Kandy Metal Flake is best sprayed from guns equipped with at least a 1.4 mm orifice to spray the F Series while the larger BF Series should be sprayed with a 1.8 mm tip or larger. Guns equiped with agitator cups are recommended or constant mixing of the cup contents ust be performed to keep flakes in suspension. Concentration can be varied to achieve desired effect. As with any metal flake finish, additional coats of clear will be required to cover profile of the flake on the surface.

The states shown below in orange currently require the purchase of low VOC paint, but there are other areas with regulations. For a comprehensive list of low VOC regulations, click here.
Before ordering, please check your local regulations. If you need more information concerning low VOC products, please email us at info@thecoatingstore.com.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much paint do I need?
The amount of paint you will need depends on a lot of factors including the size of the vehicle you are painting, how much of the vehicle you are painting, which color you use, your spray equipment, and the technique and skill of your painter. Generally speaking a gallon kit of paint is enough for the outside and jambs of a small to medium sized vehicle. Larger vehicles or if you are painting more than the outside and jambs will require more paint. Quart kits are generally enough paint for motorcycles and golf carts. However, if you have a large motorcycle or golf cart with a lot of pieces you might need an additional quart kit.
Which clear should I use?
We highly recommend the UC-210 UreChem HS Glamour clear. The UC-210 has been proven to offer more UV protection than most clears on the market, extending the life of your paint.
Which activator and reducer should I use?
The activator and reducer to select depends on the size of the vehicle or parts you are painting, the temperature, and your air movement. Generally speaking, when painting 30% or more of a car's surface area at once, you'll want medium or "standard" reducer and activator. Also, standard reducer and activator are recommended when vehicle surface temperatures are below 85F. For vehicle surface temperatures above 85F, "slow" is the better choice. Finally, "fast" is only recommended for smaller painting areas while also working in cooler temps.
