Description

Code 202, Black Onyx is Toyota's most commonly used solid color (no pearl or metallic in this one) black on most makes and models.

UreChem paint is expertly formulated for durability and vibrant color. Made in the USA, UreChem products are extensively tested and designed to exceed the performance of the industry's best known paint brands.

For more than 10 years The Coating Store has sold UreChem paint exclusively at manufacturer direct prices. Our customers often save hundreds or thousands of dollars buying their own paint online, and our excellent reviews speak for themselves. With excellent pricing, great reviews, and premium quality, you can't go wrong with us!

Special note about factory paint colors: Due to inconsistencies in original paint color at the time of vehicle manufacturer, this paint may not match your existing factory paint (even if the vehicle is stamped with this specific factory color code). As a result, we recommend our product for painting the entire vehicle and not for spot/panel repairs. As always, we recommend spraying a test panel before proceeding with painting.

Low VOC Requirements

Many states, counties, and/or municipalities have regulations regarding the application of low volatile organic compound (VOC) paint. The states shown below in orange currently require the purchase of low VOC paint, but there are other areas with regulations. For a comprehensive list of low VOC regulations, click here.

Before ordering, please check your local regulations. If you need more information concerning low VOC products, please email us at info@thecoatingstore.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much paint do I need?

The amount of paint you will need depends on a lot of factors including the size of the vehicle you are painting, how much of the vehicle you are painting, which color you use, your spray equipment, and the technique and skill of your painter. Generally speaking a gallon kit of paint is enough for the outside and jambs of a small to medium sized vehicle. Larger vehicles or if you are painting more than the outside and jambs will require more paint. Quart kits are generally enough paint for motorcycles and golf carts. However, if you have a large motorcycle or golf cart with a lot of pieces you might need an additional quart kit.

Which clear should I use?

We highly recommend the UC-210 UreChem HS Glamour clear. The UC-210 has been proven to offer more UV protection than most clears on the market, extending the life of your paint.

Which activator and reducer should I use?

The activator and reducer to select depends on the size of the vehicle or parts you are painting, the temperature, and your air movement. Generally speaking, when painting 30% or more of a car's surface area at once, you'll want medium or "standard" reducer and activator. Also, standard reducer and activator are recommended when vehicle surface temperatures are below 85F. For vehicle surface temperatures above 85F, "slow" is the better choice. Finally, "fast" is only recommended for smaller painting areas while also working in cooler temps.

How good is your product?

Does this product meet local VOC requirements?

We know there are some areas that require the use of a "low VOC" automotive paint, and we offer an extensive line of low VOC paints for customers in these areas.
