Can I return a product?

You may return unused merchandise listed on this site that is in saleable condition within 30 days of the original purchase date for a refund less then original shipping charges we incurred. Special order items (items that are not listed on the site) are not eligible for return. Exchanges may be done up to 90 days from original purchase date. Please note, we will deduct our original shipping costs from any refund. Please contact us at [email protected] to start the process. We cannot accept returns that we did not authorize, so always contact us first.

Can I exchange my purchase?

Yes, if it is in saleable condition and within 90 days of the original purchase date then it is eligible for return and exchange.  Contact us first before sending your item back for instructions on how to properly return your items.

How do I return or exchange a purchase?

To begin the return process, please email us at [email protected]. We cannot accept returns that we did not authorize, so contact us for details. Returns may be done 30 days from original sale date and exchanges may be done up to 90 days from original purchase date. Please be advised that that TheCoatingStore.com's original shipping costs will be deducted from your refund. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, and we recommend you insure your package.

Do you have a restocking fee?

No, we do not charge a restocking fee at this time but original shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

What happens if you ship the wrong paint?

Despite our best efforts we sometimes make mistakes and ship the wrong item or leave an item out.  It is important to inspect your items within 24 hours of receiving them to make sure you have the items you ordered and they are in good use-able condition.  If we have omitted an item or sent the wrong item we will make make sure you get the correct item as soon as possible.

What happens if I ordered the wrong paint?

You will need to go through the return process. To begin, please email us at [email protected]. We cannot accept returns that we did not authorize, so contact us for details first. If you have any questions about color or products, feel free to contact us before you buy. We are happy to answer your questions.

Are there certain products that I can't return?

Yes. Any used paint or coating cannot be resold, so it is not eligible for return. If you are unhappy and would like to discuss an exchange, please contact us at [email protected] within 90 days of original purchase date to discuss options.  Special order items, defined as items not listed on our site, are not eligible for return.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

Yes, the buyer is responsible for return shipping.  We recommend you insure your package.  Contact us for return details on how to properly return your items.

How long will it take to receive my refund?

Once your return is received and processed, it usually takes 2-5 business days for your refund to deposit.  Refunds can only be made to the original payment method.

What if my TheCoatingStore.com purchase arrives damaged?

We go to great lengths to pack materials to reduce shipping damage.  However, no matter how well items are packed, they sometimes will get damaged by the carrier in transit.  If this happens, please let us know right away, and be sure to keep the box the parts arrived in. Items damaged or items missing from your shipment must be reported within 24 hours of package receipt. Should your items be damaged beyond use during shipment, please take photos of the box and items and email them to us at [email protected]. We will work with you to file a damaged freight claim to get your money back or materials replaced.  We do not consider dented cans as damaged product as long as they are not leaking and the lids can be removed and re-secured.

What if my return never arrives? Do I still get a refund?

Sorry, no. This is why we suggest insuring your return package.

What if someone else bought this paint for me, but I want to return it?

TheCoatingStore.com cannot issue a refund for a product you didn't purchase, but if you want to exchange the item we may be able to help. Please email us at [email protected] within 90 days of the original purchase date. We cannot accept returns that we did not authorize, so email us for details.
