Featured in this listing is a 4 ounce bottle of the FireFlake Kandy Metal Flake. FireFlake is built from solvent resistant polymer metallized and coated for deep color and durability. These Kandy Metal flake colors come in two convenient particle sizes; 1/165th (F Series) and 1/65th (BF Series) of an inch and cut to hexagonal geometry for excellent balance of sparkle with application ease. Can be added to clear topcoats or for best results use one of our intercoat clears (sold separately). FireFlake Kandy Metal Flake is best sprayed from guns equipped with at least a 1.4 mm orifice to spray the F Series while the larger BF Series should be sprayed with a 1.8 mm tip or larger. Guns equiped with agitator cups are recommended or constant mixing of the cup contents ust be performed to keep flakes in suspension. Concentration can be varied to achieve desired effect. As with any metal flake finish, additional coats of clear will be required to cover profile of the flake on the surface.

However, Delaware has an exception in section 11.1.2.2 stating “where the use or application of that coating or cleaning solvent is by a person who does not receive compensation for such use or application”. In other words, our understanding from the rule is that if you are paying a painter to paint your vehicle then have to use LOW VOC coatings but if you are not paying someone to paint your vehicle then you can use the standard non-LOW VOC materials.

However, Maryland has an exception in section 2 of rule 26.11.19.23 stating “An automotive coating applied to motor vehicles or mobile equipment or their associated parts and components by a person who does not receive compensation for the application of the coating.” In other words, our understanding from the rule is that if you are paying a painter to paint your vehicle then they have to use LOW VOC coatings but if you are not paying someone to paint your vehicle then you can use the standard non-LOW VOC materials.
